I worked at Frankston North Community Centre.
I found a few things interesting that in the Frankston North Community Centre as they do a variety of new and interesting things for the community, such as creating plastic blankets for the homeless that are waterproof and insulated. I mainly did busywork, such as helping in the kitchen and cleaning up after the community carols, the people working there were nice, but I didn't really 'Click' with the work i was doing

Yes I think your enthusiasm would have been great at FNCC. Having the ability to talk to all types of people and make them feel welcome and happy to be there is a huge advantage when working in community services or in community development. And teamwork is critical in a workplace like FNCC because so much is going on all the time and no doubt every day brings unexpected situations for the staff and volunteers - so working as a team I think is definitely very important.

Jess it sounds like FNCC was a great place to do work experience and gave you the chance to do a variety of activities with many different people. Community Centres are really fantastic community resources and like you saw offer so many things to so many people.

Frankston North Community Centre.  :) :D
The skills I had to use for my work placement is team work when I had to help with events or walk around the streets, enthusiastic with the bubbly personality/excited to see everyone. Enthusiastic is natural to me because I have a bubbly personality and team work I work well with people a lot doing things with the other employees/employers in different ways.
I do think that skills can be learned/taught if people just practice and or have  been shown, but I also believe that it can come naturally with how people have been brought up,  with how people look at what people around are doing and pick up things easily from family etc.

I worked at Frankston North Community Centre.
I found a few things interesting that in the Frankston North Community Centre it’s not just for community stuff. They do things that really matter, for example they are trying to make 10,000 eight point stars for the worldwide one million stars to stop violence. We also did a disability event which was when people that have some disabilities come and do fun activities.
I was also interested with how much I have grown. I had to cut some ribbon, fold some paper, do reception etc. The work place was a fun, positive environment with lovely people that you meet through everything we did there. It’s good for all ages and all nationalities.

Thanks Ayoub. Yes it sounds like communication and teamwork are very important in a nursery setting. Also I think learning is a big part of any new job - good on you for trying something pretty new. Like I said to Esther knowing your own strengths and weaknesses in regards to employability can help you focus on the areas you need to improve. It's very helpful that teamwork and communication come naturally to to you because they're very important in nearly every workplace!
