I was surprised I could sit in place for over an hour sorting and folding sheets of paper and medical forms, something I would have never done when I was younger, though I still have an unknown motive to get up and move around. my work involved printing, folding paper, organising and sorting out letters with envelopes and having them all ready to be sent off. The workplace was quite small, standing in the place you could see the areas where employees would eat and rest, the restrooms and even all the spare dozen stacks of paper that were at the back of the room.

Hello Chae, I hope you enjoyed your work placement and it was great that you got things done and that you helped them. I hope you loved it!!!

I used a few employability skills during my time at Scotsburn. Communication and Teamwork were the major skills, but I also used Problem Solving and Learning. Communication is a big thing in the workplace, knowing where to put the plants and it also links in with Teamwork, helping each other put the plants down and put plants in pots productively. Problem Solving was used as I had sore feet and had to tackle the pain and Learning as I learnt a lot of the type of workplace it was. Communication and Teamwork are skills I'm more confident and capable with naturally because I like being friendly and helping people. Yes, they can be learnt through hard work and teamwork through the stages of learning.

Thanks Esther, it's great that you enjoyed working there and it's great that you learnt something new. Working there is probably fun and is nice and relaxed as you said. If I could, I would recommend the aged care facility to my friends thanks to your comment on how it was!!!! :D

Scotsburn Nursery is a great place with friendly people and it is hardwork to do all the things around the workplace. I learnt that your feet will die within the first 2 days and that your back will hurt too. I had to place down plants and trolley around all the plants. I also did potting and placed down those pots to grow bigger and better. Then I shoveled some bark and stones into a wheelbarrow and took the wheelbarrow to a specific area to tip. My foot was hurting so I checked it out and I had an ingrown toenail and had to leave early and get it fixed, it's all good now!
